Partially See-Through Backgounds
How do you make a fog or sunshine beams overlay your screen? To do this you first have to create a background that is partially see through. Game Maker 8 now provides the ability to use translucent colors. In the background editor under the image menu there is an option to set the opacity. Change this opacity so that your background is partially see through. Now add the background in the background tab of the room you want the background in. In this tab there is an option to make your background a foreground, check this option.
