Redchu and theweirdn8 conducted a Survey of 200 Game Maker users. Many questions were useless. Here are some of the results I found most interesting.
94% of people were male.
35% were 18-21 years old. 29% were 15-17 years old. No one was older than 47.
There were almost 3X as many Linux users than Mac users.
Mac users were at 6% while 2.5% wrote in that they were on an android device, and 2% put themselves in the other category which likely contains many Android devices.
The favorite game genre was RPG followed by platform and adventure games. If turn based strategy and real time strategy games were combined they would be the second most popular genre.
