Draw a picture of a hen protecting her chickens by gathering the chickens under her wings. In the second picture, draw Christ protecting us by gathering us to him in the same manner.

In this verse the people changed their attitudes. Their mourning, or sadness, turned into joy. Their lamentations, or expressions of sorrow, turned into praising and giving thanks to the Lord. Think of your own life. Write about a time when you felt sorrow but after thinking about God and his goodness, you felt happy once again.
