What do you think that the Lord did to Samaria and her idols? He says that he will also do it to Jerusalem and her idols.

The ax can’t do anything on its own. It needs someone to hew, or chop, with it. The Lord asks if the ax can boast against the hewer. Think of us as axes and the Lord as the hewer. How are we dependent on the Lord.
